The mission of the Oregon Skating Council (OSC) is to promote the sport of figure skating in Oregon. OSC also serves those areas of Washington, California and Nevada that are regionally connected to Oregon. We are recognized by United States Figure Skating (USFS) as an Interclub composed of clubs that are members of USFS. Only a USFS skating club may be a member of OSC. Membership in OSC is not exclusive. A USFS skating club that is a full member of OSC may at the same time and without restriction be a member of another USFS Interclub Association.
Oregon Skating Council fundraises by attracting and hosting major skating events in connection with our partners at Oregon Sports Authority www.oregonsports.org. The funds thus raised are used to fund grant requests, mostly from member clubs, for activities that promote figure skating and benefit members of all clubs in the Council. Clubs are expected to plan their own events that are as self-sufficient as possible, but when extra assistance is required a grant will be considered by the board.
